How to get to Dubai

FROM THE AIRPORT

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is north of the cove a few km from the centre. It is one of the busiest airports in the world and is very well equipped. Flights from Western Europe take about 7 hours, and from New York 17 hours. A second airport, Dubai World Central, was opened in 2014, although few companies currently use it.

If you are going to travel to Dubai and need to know how to get to the city from the airport, you should know that the journeys to any part of the city are short. By car it takes 10 minutes to Deira and 40 to 50 minutes to Dubai Marina and the coastal resorts.

1 meter

There are metro stations at terminals 1 and 3 to go to Deira, Bur Dubai and Sheikh Rashid Road. A bus connects terminal 2 to access the metro network. If your hotel is near a subway station and you don't have a lot of luggage, it's a good option.

Before entering the metro network you must purchase a Nol voucher, a ticket for 10 trips or one for one day. There are lockers and vending machines in the terminals. The metro is open from Saturday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. During rush hours, a train runs every 4 minutes; and in off-peak hours, every 7 minutes.

Each traveler is allowed two suitcases or bags, which must be placed in the reserved spaces; drinking alcohol is not allowed.

2) Bus

Few bus lines pass through the airport and most serve outlying districts. The bus is not as useful and fast as other means of transportation to get from the airport.

3) Taxi

The taxi is the most efficient way to get from the airport to the hotel. There are stops at all terminals and the queues of customers move quickly, even during peak hours. Taxis are metered and fares from the airport are 20 dirhams for a small taxi, 1.71 dirhams for each kilometer traveled from 6.00 to 22.00n and 25 dirhams for a large taxi plus 1.86 dirhams per kilometer at the same time. . Rates drop from 22.00 to 6.00.

Some examples:

  • From the airport to Jumerirah Becah Hotel: 63 dirhams, 30 minutes.
  • From the airport to Atlantis, The Palm: 87 dirhams, 40 minutes.
  • From the airport to Bur Dubai: 45 dirhams, 20 minutes.

4) Car rental

Traffic is heavy, the road network is confusing, road conditions vary and driving standards are poor. Do not rent a car unless you are an experienced driver.

5) Hotel transportation service

Many hotels have transportation services and pick up their clients at the airport. Please request it when you make a reservation.

6) Vaccines

There are no vaccination requirements, but this may change. Get informed before traveling to Dubai from our professionals.
